To Store Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera gel browns quickly similar to the way avocado does when exposed to the air.

How to store Aloe:

Set a leaf in upright in a glass with cut side down for 15 minutes to allow sap to drain. Discard the sap. Cut leaf in half horizontally. Scoop out the gel with a spoon and place in a jar, seal and store in fridge. To keep it from browning, open a vit. E gelcap and add to gel. Use as needed.

Whole aloe vera leaves may also be wrapped then frozen.

Garden Review 2014

Garden in Review 2014

This year, I planted the cucumbers to grow upward in a new garden that was shallow. The soil needed more amendments as it got very hot this summer. Five plants produced about 20 cucumbers.

Tomato plants numbered 15 and did well. This is the first year I grew vine tomatoes and was surprised by the pink color and taste full of flavor. The rest were Beef Steak except for one grape tomato plant that was a volunteer from last year and did well.
